Daily Streak & Token Economy — How to Earn Free Arcade Tokens
Earn tokens from daily streaks, quests, and game sessions. Spend them on cosmetic avatars and name colors in the Arcade Shop.
Token Economy Overview
Tokens are the cosmetic currency in RETROPLAY ARENA. They're earned by playing — never purchased with real money. Spend them on avatar emojis and name color gradients in the Arcade Shop. There's also a Streak Saver item (50 tokens) that protects your daily streak from breaking.
Daily Streak Rewards
Visit the site each day to maintain your streak. Rewards scale: Day 1 = 10 tokens, Day 2 = 20, up to Day 7+ = 70 tokens per day. Miss a day and your streak resets to 1 (unless you have a Streak Saver active).
Daily Quests (3 per day)
Three quests refresh at UTC midnight: Easy (25 tokens) — play 2 games of a category. Medium (50 tokens) — hit a score target in a specific game. Hard (100 tokens) — play 3 distinct games in a category. That's up to 175 tokens per day from quests alone.
Session Tokens
Every game session with score > 0 earns 5 + floor(score/1000) tokens. A 3000-point run earns 8 tokens. This adds up fast if you play multiple games per day.
Streak Saver
Buy a Streak Saver for 50 tokens in the Shop. It's single-use: the next time you miss a day, the freeze prevents your streak from breaking. Buy it before a busy week to protect your 7-day bonus.
